Notes: Physical Description


What does this animal look like? Be sure to name unique characterstics of your animal!

  • Octopuses have eight arms
  • Octopuses mouth is hidden under arms
  • Octopus camoflage skin
  • The eggs get swept away from their mother and survive on their own for the rest of their life
  • Octopuses immmediatly become friends with divers who come often to where they first met
  • Octopuses can squeaze threw place 4 inches wide and 4 inches tall
  • Octopuses get bigger after eating
  • Octopuses may get an arm bit of by a predador, it doesn't hurt the octopus and will eventually grow back
  • Some octopuses measure only one inch from arm tip to arm tip
  • If the octopus is not hungry and has food, it has suckers that will hold on to the food until it is hungry again

  • Clear when baby

Does your animal's appearance protect it in any way?

  • Can camoflage skin
  • Octopuses can jet away from predadors with black ink called "inking"
  • They can fit through a square 4 feet tall and 4 feet wide

  • The Octopuses like the ocean nearest to the equador
  • They like the bottom of the water
  • They also like tropical waters
